‘Baba ka Dhaba’ owner Kanta Prasad opens new restaurant
Kanta Prasad, the 80-year-old owner of the small eatery ”Baba ka Dhaba” that was recently in the limelight on social media, on Monday opened a new restaurant in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. The new restaurant has also been named ‘Baba ka Dhaba’.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Prasad said, “We’re very happy, god has blessed us. I want to thank people for their help. I appeal to them to visit my restaurant. We will serve Indian & Chinese cuisine here.”
The 80-year-old Baba ka Dhaba owner told ANI that he has installed new furniture to CCTV cameras in the new joint and even though, him and his wife will cook the food, they have also employed a helper.
Prasad and his wife’s destiny had changed overnight in October after food vlogger had posted a video of an elderly Malviya Nagar couple. They were driven to tears for not being able to do business at their dhaba owing to the pandemic.
The video got viral, and many Bollywood celebrities had urged people to help the couple.
In November, a major twist came into light when Kanta Prasad files a police complaint and had alleged that the food blogger “deliberately shared his and his family’s bank details and collected a huge amount of donation” and filed a police complaint against the blogger for fraud whose investigation is underway by the Delhi police.
However, responding to allegations the food blogger has said that he returned all the money to Prasad through cheques and online payment.
