Supreme Court Furnished notice to Centre and States Removing farmers at Delhi borderline.

Supreme Court on Wednesday furnished notice to Centre and States on a bunch of Pleas seeking a direction to the authorities to immediately remove the Farmers who are protesting at several border lines of Delhi against those three New Farm Laws.

Supreme court also stated it should form a committee having representatives of government and Farmer Bodies across the country to sort out the dispute.

Hearing to continue tomorrow

A Bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde and Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian granted permission to implead farmer organisations. The Supreme Court to hear the matter on tomorrow.

Supreme Court told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that it considered to set up a Committee, consisting of Representatives of farmers Unions across Country, government and other stakeholders to sort out this issue.

“This will soon become a national issue,”the bench, also comprising Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian, said. “Your negotiations with protesting farmers have not worked apparently till now” the bench said.

Lakhs of farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana, are currently staying on dharnas at Delhi’s borders, lines draw with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in protest against Three New Farm Bill, the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
