PM Modi and Sheikh Hasina to hold virtual summit today

India and Bangladesh are all set to held a virtual meeting on coming Thursday and will hold comprehensive discussions on the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship, including further strengthening cooperation in post COVID-19 era. PM Modi will talk with sheikh hasina in a virtual summit today .

This virtual summit will held a day after the Vijay diwas, which highlights the India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war that led to the creation of Bangladesh.

PM Modi had delivered a video message on the historic occasion of Mujib Borshoin March, 2020.

Sources said India  and Bangladesh have been making efforts to enhance the transport and connectivity.

The leadership on both the sides have ben committed to revivingand operationalising the six pre-1965 rail links between India and Bangladesh.

With the inauguration of Haldibari-Chilahati rail link, five out of six rail links are currently operational. Sources said Haldibari-Chilahati rail link was a part of broad gauge main route from Kolkata to siliguri but the war of 1965 cut off all the railway links.

Both Prime Ministers jointly inaugurated Bangabandhu-Bapu Digital Exhibition to celebrate the life and legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Sheikh Mujibur Rehman.

Sources said this exhibition will get displayed in Delhi. Subsequently, it would be displayed in different locations in Bangladesh, United Nations and would finally culminate at Kolkata in 2022.
